Drug Bust in Scottsboro, Al

A 36-year-old male was taken into custody on drug-related charges following a traffic stop in Scottsboro.

On March 20, 2026, at approximately 9:15 p.m., officers initiated a stop near the intersection of Elm Street and Sisk Street, identifying the driver as Antonio Dasean Jones, according to information from the Scottsboro Police Department (SPD).

During the interaction, officers noticed a plastic bag containing a green substance in the driver’s door. Upon questioning, the individual attempted to retrieve the bag and was subsequently detained without incident.

Further investigation led to the discovery of an additional bag with a similar substance and a set of digital scales. Field testing by SPD determined both substances tested positive for synthetic marijuana (Spice).

Mr. Jones was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Spice) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was transported to the Scottsboro City Jail and later transferred to the Jackson County Jail for processing on the felony charge.
