Body Located in Monteagle Remains Unnamed

Last Thursday, March 19, 2026, Sequatchie Valley Now reported about a body being found in Monteagle. We asked today on March 26 for an update from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Here is what we received.

At the request of 12th Judicial District Attorney General Courtney Lynch, TBI special agents responded to the 700 block of Trussell Road and assisted the Marion County Sherriff’s Office and Monteagle Police in the recovery of human remains that were discovered. The remains have been transported to the Office of the Medical Examiner in Nashville for examination and positive identification. This investigation is active and ongoing. When more information is released Sequatchie Valley Now will do a follow up.
