The Marion County Sheriff’s Department warns about a phone scam targeting residents for personal data. If you get an unsolicited call asking for money, do not share any information.
Current scams include:
- Claims of outstanding warrants resolved by payment
- Threats of arrest over unpaid fees
- Callers pretending to be companies requesting verification of your details
