On Wednesday, April 29,2026, Haletown Fire and Rescue responded to a lost hiker at Little Cedar Mtn Hiking trail. Thirteen men responded and search and rescue began the operation.
After searching for over an hour, additional aide was called. Jasper Fire, and Marion County Rescue reported to the area. Citizen Billy Farrow took two firemen on his boat to search for the missing person. After a short time of looking for the missing person, the hiker was located in good health and transferred by boat to Marion County Park.
