The University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture and Tennessee State University Extension Office in Marion County is partnering with Appalachian Carbon Exchange to host a special informational lunch for local forest landowners next month in Jasper.
The free “Landowner Lunch” event is scheduled for Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from noon until 1 p.m. at the UT-TSU Extension Office, located at 302 Betsy Pack Dr. in Jasper.
Organizers say the event is designed to help forest landowners learn about potential income opportunities tied to their property through forest carbon programs and long-term land stewardship initiatives.
Topics planned for discussion include how forest carbon programs work, what participation requires, what types of income opportunities may be available, and how landowners can receive a free property evaluation.
According to organizers, the program is intended for landowners with at least 200 acres of forestland who have not completed major timber harvesting within the past decade and who are interested in long-term stewardship and supplemental income opportunities.
A free lunch will be provided during the event, and there is no cost or obligation to attend.
Those interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP online through the registration form.
