One Person Extricated Following Two-Vehicle Crash in Dunlap

A two-vehicle crash in Dunlap on Saturday morning resulted in one person being extricated from a vehicle, though injuries appeared to be minor, according to the Dunlap Fire Department.

The crash occurred around 10:40 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 8/111 and Tram Trail Street. Emergency responders were dispatched to reports of a motor vehicle collision with possible entrapment.

Dunlap Fire Department responded with Rescue 1, Engine 1, and 10 volunteer firefighters. Upon arrival, crews determined that one victim was trapped inside a vehicle and used Hurst rescue tools to safely remove the individual.

Fire officials reported that the victim appeared to have sustained only minor injuries.

The accident occurred just inside the Dunlap city limits and is being investigated by the Dunlap Police Department.

Additional agencies assisting at the scene included the Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office, Puckett EMS, and Sequatchie County Rescue. Deputies assisted with the response, while Puckett EMS transported the injured parties for medical evaluation. Sequatchie County Rescue provided traffic control during the incident.

No additional information about the cause of the crash or the number of injuries has been released.
