Whitwell, Marion County Libraries Seeking Applications for Part-Time Library Assistant Position

The City of Whitwell and the Marion County Libraries are currently accepting applications for a part-time Library Assistant/Clerk position.

According to the job posting, the position is scheduled for 18½ hours per week and will involve a variety of duties supporting the operations of the Marion County library system.

Responsibilities for the position include adding and deleting books from library systems, checking books in and out for patrons, assisting with copies, faxes, and printing services, answering phones, preparing monthly activity reports, sending book invoices to the state, and ordering interlibrary loan books. Additional duties may also be assigned by library leadership.

The position will operate under the supervision of the Orena Humphreys Library Director and/or Assistant Director and is subject to the policies and procedures of the Marion County Library Board.

Officials say the opening will remain posted until filled.
