No Lettuce and Tomatoes in August for Grundy County Students

As the school year begins, Grundy County Schools will not serve lettuce or tomatoes in August due to the Cyclospora outbreak affecting 45 states. The CDC reports Cyclospora is linked to contaminated food or water and can cause prolonged diarrhea if untreated. Cases have been confirmed nearby but not yet in Grundy County. Parents welcome the precaution, and the district will review whether to extend the policy after August.
