Tennessee Continues Large Resident Growth

In Sunday’s Tennessean an article highlighted Tennessee’s latest population estimates and included the above map showing population changes by county from 2024 to 2025. According to the report, Tennessee added 63,785 new residents last year, bringing the state’s population to approximately 7.3 million people. Middle Tennessee continues to lead much of that growth.
The counties seeing the largest gains were:

Davidson County: +9,281 residents
Rutherford County: +6,266 residents
Wilson County: +4,693 residents
Maury County: +3,675 residents
Montgomery County: +3,654 residents
Williamson County: +3,575 residents

Hamilton County: + 3,565 residents
Sumner County: +3,357 residents

The report shows that Marion County increased by 43 residents, Grundy County fell by 2 people, Sequatchie County added 252 residents, and Bledsoe County increased by 347.
