Sequatchie County Schools Cancell Two Bus Routes due to lack of drivers

Sequatchie County Schools has been forced to cancel bus routes for two days because of a shortage of drivers, leaving students unable to get to school.

On Friday, Director of Schools Sarai Pierce posted on Facebook to apologize for the cancellations that occurred on August 25 and 27. She stated that there are enough buses, but not enough people to drive them.

The district advised that students who couldn’t find another way to school would be excused for those days.

Pierce appealed to the community for help, asking anyone interested in becoming a bus driver to contact Sequatchie County. Substitute bus drivers are being offered $25.22 per hour, according to the school’s Facebook post.
