24 personnel from Jasper Highlands and Elder Mountain Volunteer Fire and Rescue completed the field day portion of the Wildland Firefighter 2 certification. This eight-hour field day followed 24 hours of online training. Class members received hands-on training with hand tools, firing devices, wildland hose lays, and fire shelter deployment.
In the coming months, these personnel will have the opportunity to validate their training with either the arduous, moderate, or light pack test.
This training ensures team members are prepared to respond to and appropriately manage wildland fires.
