Blood Assurance has an emergency need for blood and platelet donors as the area enters one of the most dangerous times of year for trauma-related injuries, known as the 100 Deadliest Days of Summer. This is when traumatic accidents, especially car crashes, spike, but donation rates drop.
Right now, donations are falling as demand climbs.
All locations will be open on Memorial Day to help meet the demand. Blood Assurance reports they have about a 1–2 day supply of O-negative blood; they’d like to increase that to 3+ days.
All donors who give between now and May 31 will receive a free “Follow My Lead” t-shirt. O-Negative and AB-Plasma donors will also receive a $25 e-gift card.
All donors who give in the month of June will receive a $20 e-gift card, delivered to the email on file. O-Negative and AB-Plasma donors will receive a $25 e-gift card.
