The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is planning to construct a new pumped storage facility in Jackson County, Alabama. The proposed location is near Pisgah and Flat Rock on the western edge of Sand Mountain, with an expected generation capacity of up to 1,600 megawatts.
Additionally, TVA is evaluating the potential for expansion at Raccoon Mountain and another location near Stevenson, situated further north in Jackson County.
TVA will hold a public meeting at Pisgah High School next Thursday evening, June 12, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Central Time. Public comments can also be submitted on their website until July 14.
