On Friday afternoon in Chattanooga, TN the South Pittsburg Pirates rolled to their 8th state football championship. The Pirates defeated the McKenzie Rebels 42-14.
Ja’Mychal Buckner had a huge day with 204 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns. He was named the game’s Most Valuable Player.

QB Caden Jones was 5-8 passing with 157 yards and 2 TDs and Mr Football finalist had 4 catches for 82 yards and a touchdown.
Clemson signee J.R. Hardrick led the South Pittsburg defense with 8 total tackles and Kemijah Harris added 7. The Pirate D held McKenzie scoreless until the 3rd quarter with the Pirates up 35-0.
South Pittsburg finishes the year with a 14-1 record and earning their 8th TSSAA Gold Ball.
