My name is Travis Layne, and I’m running for County Mayor because I believe our County deserves leadership that listens and puts people first. As Mayor, I will lead with integrity, honesty, transparency, and accountability. I believe in being accessible, showing up in our communities, and working side by side with families to address real issues like growth, cost of living, and protecting our County’s future. This isn’t about politics or titles—it’s about service. Together, we can move our County forward, and I’d be honored to earn your vote.
My wife, Marie Layne, and I are lifelong residents of Marion County. We raised our four sons here, and today they are raising their children here as well. This county is our home, and our family’s roots run deep in this community.
Marie and I are founders of the “A Voice for the Voiceless” project, an initiative to install communication boards in parks across Marion County so every child and individual has a way to be heard and included. This effort reflects our belief that everyone matters and deserves a voice.
I am running for County Mayor to ensure the people of Marion County are always informed. As Mayor, the public will receive weekly updates from the Mayor’s Office. Citizens will know what decisions are being considered before they are made—who is involved, what is being discussed, and why it matters. Transparency and accountability will be the foundation of my administration.
We will work closely with the Department of Education to explore how the county can better support our schools. Investing in our students is investing in the future of Marion County. I also want to involve our students in local government, giving them opportunities to learn how government works and to feel connected to their community.
As Mayor, I will work side by side with the Sheriff’s Department, Highway Department, Fire Departments, and the cities and towns throughout our county. When we work together, we strengthen our communities, support our families, and move Marion County forward—together.
