Sequatchie Valley Now has learned that the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) is looking into the death of a Marion County inmate.
Clifford R Rector Jr
The inmate has been identified as 46-year-old Clifford Ray Rector Jr., who died while in custody at the Marion County Jail. He was being held on a charge of Criminal Trespass by Kimball Police since February 2, 2026.
The TBI began its investigation after receiving a request from 12th Judicial District Attorney General Courtney Lynch. The cause of death has not yet been determined.
