The Marion County Lady Warriors are still alive in the TSSAA Class 2A softball postseason after finishing as runners-up in the Region 3-2A Tournament on Wednesday night.
Marion County fell to Cannon County 5-0 in the region championship game, ending an impressive regional run for the Lady Warriors. Despite the loss, Marion County advances to the Class 2A sectional round and will travel to face White House-Heritage on Friday with a trip to the state tournament on the line.

The Lady Warriors opened regional play in dominant fashion last week, overwhelming Smith County in a 10-0 victory to secure their spot in the championship game and guarantee a sectional berth.
Marion County has put together a strong season against a competitive Region 3-2A schedule that includes district rivals Sequatchie County, Bledsoe County, and Cannon County. The Lady Warriors entered postseason play with more than 20 wins on the season and have continued to build momentum during tournament action.
Friday’s sectional matchup will send Marion County on the road to take on White House-Heritage, the Region 4-2A champion. White-House Heritage enters the game after a strong season in Middle Tennessee and has posted several lopsided victories during the postseason.
The winner of Friday’s sectional contest will earn a berth in the TSSAA Class 2A State Softball Tournament in Murfreesboro.
