A child has died in a crash involving a dump truck in the Coffee County city of Tullahoma.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the crash happened at the intersection of Kings Lane at Country Club Drive just before 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25.
Authorities said the child is believed to be a student within the Tullahoma City Schools system.
The intersection where the accident occurred recently had a new flashing stop sign installed on the roadway.

We are heartbroken to confirm that one of our students was killed in a horrific accident this morning on his way to school. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends, classmates, and those who knew and cared for the student. Tullahoma City Schools will continue to provide support to the family, students, teachers, and staff affected during this difficult time. Grief counseling and community faith-based support will be available as long as needed. Tullahoma is a close-knit community, and everyone will mourn over the loss of one of our children. Please pray for healing as we deal with this unimaginable event.
