Sequatchie County Director of Schools Sarai Pierce
An 18-year-old student has been charged after a non-operational firearm was found at Sequatchie County High School last week, according to Sequatchie County Sheriff Bill Phillips.
Gabriel Hadley, 18, was charged with displaying an imitation firearm.
Sequatchie County Director of Schools Sarai Pierce announced the school lock down on Friday.
Sheriff Phillips said the weapon was not operational and was apparently brought to the school as a collector’s item to show other students.
The discovery prompted a temporary lock down at the school. Officials previously said there was no intent to cause harm and that everyone was safe.
