Grundy County Superintendent Clint Durley stated that the high school has not confirmed reports of bedbugs at Grundy County High School, which originated from social media speculation.
As a precaution, one room has been isolated, and pest-control personnel visited the campus Friday afternoon to inspect the area and treat it if necessary.
Families are encouraged to inspect their children’s backpacks for bedbugs. Empty the backpack, examine the books—including their bindings—and, if possible, place the backpack in a clothes dryer for one full cycle. The heat may kill any bedbugs present.
