On Saturday night, Dunlap Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on Hwy 127 south of town. A tree had fallen blocking almost the entire road about one mile south of the Sequatchie River.
A car traveling north ran into the tree and went off the road, down an embankment and came to rest in a creek bed. Fortunately, the driver was able to get out of the vehicle with only minor injuries. Firefighters remained on scene and cleared the tree from the road.
Puckett EMS was on the scene, but no transport was necessary. Troopers with Tennessee Highway Patrol investigated the accident assisted by Sequatchie County Sheriff’s deputies and TDOT responded.
