Law enforcement was notified of the reported threat of mass violence by Grundy County High School administrators on Monday afternoon, October 26, 2026.
A representative from the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office participated in the threat assessment conducted on Tuesday morning, October 27, 2026. Following the assessment, the threat of mass violence was determined to be credible, and criminal charges were filed against the student responsible for making the threat.
Grundy County Schools will continue to cooperate fully with the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office as law enforcement takes further action.
