Obituary For Diana Wallace Poe

Diana Poe, 72, of Whitwell, Tennessee, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. She was born on July 15, 1953, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to Mitchell Wallace, Jr. and Nellie Alder Wallace. Diana was a woman of strength and gentle spirit. Rooted in her Baptist faith, she lived her life with humility, kindness, and devotion to the people she loved. She was married to her beloved husband, Loyd Poe, with whom she shared a life built on love, family, and simple joys. For many years, Diana worked in the Dietary Department at Grandview Hospital, now known as Parkridge West. Her dedication and steady presence touched the lives of coworkers and patients alike. Diana had a creative heart. She enjoyed collecting lighthouses and snowmen, each piece reflecting her appreciation for beauty and comfort. She made scented candles and embroidered quilt tops, handcrafted gifts that carried her warmth and care. Some of her happiest moments were spent at the ballfields with her sons, cheering them on and being part of their world. Above all, Diana cherished her family. Time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great‑grandchildren brought her the greatest joy. She was a simple, quiet person who found fulfillment in the closeness of family and the peace of home. Diana leaves behind a legacy of love, gentleness, and devotion that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Diana is preceded in death by her father, Michell Wallace, Jr.; mother, Nellie Alder Wallace; and brothers, Jimmy Lee Wallace, Timmy Wallace.

Left to cherish her memories are husband, Loyd Poe; sons, Terry Poe, Lamar Poe; brother, John Wayne (Christine) Wallace; sister, Becky Wallace; grandchildren, Keelie (Hunter) Stephenson, Olivia (Ian) Taylor, Tyler Poe; great grandchildren, Brenton Poe, Damian Taylor; several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

There will be a Graveside service on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Pleasant Grove Cemetery at 12:00 Noon CST.
