Obituary For Doyle Thomas Hickey

Doyle Thomas Hickey, 74, of South Pittsburg, TN, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 13, 2023.

Doyle was born August 6, 1949, and was a graduate of South Pittsburg High School class of 1969.

Doyle retired from TVA Widows Creek. When he was not spending time with his family, he was in his shop woodworking, at the kitchen table with his coin collection, or out supporting Pirates and Tennessee football.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James W. and Estelle Hickey, brother; James “Jim” Hickey; sister, Gayle Hickey Phillips, and wife, Margaret Ann Hickey.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Love Hickey; son, Brian (Jackie) Hickey; daughter, Donya (Jeff) Earps, Stepchildren; Chuck Humphreys, Apryl (David) Barrett; grandchildren; Evan Lancaster, Abigail Hickey, Landon Hickey, step-grandchildren; Austin Earps, Allie Earps and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. (CDT) in the South Pittsburg chapel of Rogers Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Watkins and Rev. Scott Davis officiating.

Interment will follow at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023 from 4:00- 7:00 p.m. (CDT) and Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. (CDT) prior to the funeral service in the chapel of Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg, TN.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Humphreys, George Hampton, Jeff Earps, Butch Maynor, Chip Maynor and Chris Hampton.

The honorary pallbearers will be Wade Young and Evan Lancaster.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Greater Chattanooga, 931 McCallie Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37403 or the American Diabetes Association 5808 Lee Highway 204, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
