Obituaries

Elizabeth Willene Barnes, age 88, of Birmingham, AL formerly of Dunlap, TN, passed away Monday, March 30, 2026 at UAB Hospital. She proudly dedicated her life to raising her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Ray Barnes; mother, Flossie Dodd; brother, Homer Earl Powell; and sister, Guanda Meadows.

She is survived by two daughters, Angel (Scott) Speakman of Birmingham, AL, Gaynell Barnes of Dunlap; four sons, Danny Barnes of Birmingham, AL, David Barnes of Dunlap, Billy Barnes, of Birmingham, AL, and Len Barnes of Dunlap; seven grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Pearl Albright of Birmingham, AL, and Mamie Larkin of Dunlap.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 6, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Daniel Lee officiating. Burial will be Condra Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, April 6, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. CDT.
