Gracie Pearl Phillips Nunley, age 79, of Whitwell, Tennessee, was born on March 24, 1946, and passed away on January 17, 2026.

Gracie retired from the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, where she faithfully served her community for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who treasured her family and the time spent with them.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. ”Shorty” Nunley, Sr.; her son, Stephen Nunley; and her parents, Elbert and Christine Phillips.

Those left to cherish her memories are her sons, Robert G. Nunley, Jr. and Troy A. Nunley (Jen); siblings, LuElla Davis, Mabeline Smith, and Paul Wayne Phillips; grandchildren, Christie, Holly (Cathy), Kellie (Chris), Stephen (Misty), Brandon (Amy), Jarrod (Taylor), Cameron, Lexie (Donavon), and Alyssa (Chevy); and great-grandchildren, Brayden, Skyler, Reagan, Landon, Elley Grace, Tatum, Benjamin, Hayze, Samantha, and Rachel.

Gracie will be remembered for her strength, dedication to her family, and her years of service to her community. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Funeral Service 2PM, CST, Saturday, January 24, 2026, in the funeral home chapel with Brother Dennis Rollins officiating. Interment to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.
