Obituary For Ruby Ellis Dempsey

Ruby Ellis Dempsey, 86 , of Whitwell, passed away November 16, 2023 at her home. She was a member of Sardis United Methodist Church and a member of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Lula Ellis; husband, Jerry Dempsey.

Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Amanda (Gary) Turney, Whitwell; grandson, Seth Turney, Whitwell; sister-in-law, Pat Dempsey, Whitwell, Billie Dempsey, Soddy Daisy; several nieces and nephews; sister by choice, Peggy Thompson, Whitwell.

Services will be held Sunday, November 19 , 2023, at 2pm CST in the chapel with Rev. Brian Daniel officiating. Burial will be at Sardis Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements are by Reed Funeral Home, 11675 Hwy 28, Whitwell, TN. Visitation will be Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 5pm to 8pm and Sunday, November 19, 2023 from 12pm till time of service. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Sardis Cemetery Fund.

    I'm sorry Amanda and Gary that did not know of your mother's passing. I know it is hard to lose a close family member. Only God can ease the pain of a lost like your mother.
