Obituaries

Ruth Ann Johnson, age 80, of Dunlap, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 16, 2026, at her home.

She was born in Horton, Alabama, to the late Beamon Ashley and Margaret “Maggie” Taylor Ashley. Ann had a deep love for all kinds of pets and especially enjoyed birds watching from her front porch. She was a faithful attendee of Macedonia Church and cherished her time spent with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Musgrave and Brenda Harrison, and her son, Jamie Gass.

She is survived by her loving husband, Norman Leon Johnson; her daughter, Connie Jean Farmer and son-in-law, EJ Farmer; her niece, Kathy Horton; her nephew, John Harrison; her grandchildren, Cassie Farmer, Julian Farmer, Melissa Gass, and Amanda Gass; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many friends who will miss her dearly.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. (CST) in the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home, located at 21 East Fifth Street, Jasper, Tennessee, with Pastor Robert Caudill officiating.

Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Jasper, Tennessee.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. (CST) and again on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (CST) prior to the funeral service, all at the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Landen Fletcher, Camron Farmer, Julian Farmer, Randy Williams, Vinnie Scarborough, and Jeremy Stewart.
