Obituary For Sammy Clabon Mounce
Sammy Clabon Mounce, 82, of Whitwell, Tennessee, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 1, 2026. Born on March 30, 1944, in Stearns, Kentucky, Sammy was the son of Hollis Mounce and Beulah Mounce. He grew up with a strong sense of family, faith, and hard work values that shaped the man he became. Sammy was married to the love of his life, Dianne Reese Mounce, for 56 wonderful years. Together they built a life filled with devotion, laughter, and deep family roots. A proud veteran, Sammy served four years in the United States Air Force, including two years in the Vietnam War. His service reflected his courage, commitment, and unwavering sense of duty. After returning home, he worked as a Materials Clerk for TVA, where he later retired. In his younger years, Sammy enjoyed the outdoors hunting, fishing, and playing golf. He loved traveling to softball games with his daughter, Maranda, cheering her on with pride. He also cherished time spent with “the guys” at Cartwright Automotive, as well as working outside with his tractor and mowing. In his later years, Sammy found comfort in watching Westerns on TV, a pastime that suited his quiet strength and appreciation for timeless stories. Above all, Sammy treasured time with his family and grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
