At 11:20 Tuesday morning, the Haletown Volunteer Fire Department responded to a tractor-trailer fire on I-24 EB MM 147. Jasper Highlands and Monteagle Fire Departments also reported to the scene. The fire was quickly extinguished, though the load of eggs was marked as a total loss.
Around 7:30 Wednesday morning, Haletown Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to another tractor-trailer fire on I-24 WB MM 161. Haletown firemen quickly extinguished the fire before it spread to the rest of the cardboard-laden trailer. There were no injuries reported in either fire.
