Commuters traveling along the I-24 corridor between Marion County and Chattanooga this week can expect some traffic delays in the evening hours due to construction and road work.
According to TDOT, contractors are working nightly to resurface the lanes of both I-24 East and Westbound from the Tennessee River Bridge at Nickajack Lake and mile marker 160 to the Georgia State Line at mile marker 167.
Officials say the work will require nightly lane closures between 7 PM and 6 AM CDT and will continue until at least Thursday, July 20th.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol will have Troopers on-site during the work to assist with closures. Motorists are asked to please use caution when traveling through the work zone.
