New Update on Fatal Crash; Car Victims from Sequatchie Area

As we reported on Wednesday afternoon, one person was killed in a Jasper, TN, accident.

We can update you that Jasper Police reports that a tractor-trailer hauling corn crashed into a car and two homes.

The truck driver says his brakes went out, leading to the accident on Hwy 150 around 3:30 PM.

Jasper Police reports that two people were in the vehicle involved in the crash. The 56 year-old male passenger died due to the injuries he received, and the driver, a 49-year-old female, was airlifted from the scene in critical condition to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga; both are from the Sequatchie area. The 27-year-old male truck driver was treated and released from the hospital.

Jasper Police and Fire, Marion County Sheriff’s Department, Puckett EMS, and the Kimball Fire Department.

The crash scene was cleared at 1 AM Thursday and remains under investigation. The Tennessee Highway Patrol will inspect the semi-truck.
