Sequatchie Valley Jamboree is Friday in Dunlap

The date for the annual ‘Sequatchie Valley Jamboree’, featuring area high school football teams and their standout athletes is set and our local teams are ready to show us what they have to offer for the 2023 Tennessee High School Football season.

The annual Jamboree will take place this year on Friday, August 11th, at Indians Stadium in Dunlap, Tennessee beginning at 6:00 PM CDT.

Teams participating in the scrimmages this year include the Sequatchie County Indians, Whitwell Tigers, Bledsoe County Warriors, Howard Hustlin’ Tigers, Grundy County Yellowjackets, and the Rhea County Golden Eagles.

The night’s events will begin with a scrimmage between the ‘JV’ teams from Bledsoe and Sequatchie followed by action from the participating varsity teams.

The schedule was released earlier in the week by the participating schools and is set as follows:

6:00 PM – Bledsoe Co. (JV)  vs.  Sequatchie Co. (JV)
6:30 PM – Bledsoe County  vs.  Rhea County
7:00 PM – Grundy County  vs.  Rhea County
7:30 PM – Grundy County  vs.  Howard
8:00 PM – Whitwell  vs.  Howard
8:30 PM – Whitwell  vs.  Sequatchie County

Other teams around the Sequatchie Valley, including Marion County High and South Pittsburg, will be participating the same night in the ‘High School Jamboree Presented by BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee’ at Chattanooga’s Finley Stadium.

The event begins on Thursday, August 11th, with several Chattanooga area teams and one from North Georgia. Friday night will feature action from both the Marion County Warriors and South Pittsburg Pirates. Saturday will wrap-up the 3-day Jamboree event with more scrimmage action from Chattanooga public and private schools on Saturday evening, August 12th.  More on that event can be found here.

Whether you support a team playing in the big event in Chattanooga, or you are a Whitwell, Sequatchie, Grundy or Bledsoe faithful — we encourage you to support the local team of your choosing, and don’t miss out on the annual Sequatchie Valley Jamboree this year hosted by Sequatchie County High School.
