South Pittsburg jumped to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter at Class 5-A Franklin County on Friday night, winning 28-14 to move to 2-0 on the season.
The Pirates outgained the Rebels 301-179. Kamden Wellington finished with 193 yards passing for South Pittsburg.

Marion County traveled to Dade County, GA, and walked away with a hard-fought 10-6 win against Wolverines.
The Warriors took a 3-0 lead after a field goal with around 2 minutes to go in the first half. Dade County battled back to score with less than a minute to go in the half, but the extra point failed. The Wolverines led at halftime 6-3.
With about 4 minutes to go in the third quarter, Marrion County scored its lone touchdown on a rushing play to make it 10-6 Warriors.

Sequatchie County took care of business in a big way as they defeated East Ridge 59-24
QB Sam Evitts had a huge night as he went 15-22 through the air for 190 yards and 5 TDs. Jr. Jackson Tate had two touchdowns receiving to go along with Sr. Braylon Long, Sr. Lamonte Kelly, and Fr. Gowan Brown, with one TD receiving each.
Rushing touchdowns came from Fr. Kason Hicks, So. Austin Griffith, and Jr. Tripp Stewart.
Jr. kicker William Machado was 8 for 8 on extra points and had a field goal.

The Whitwell Tigers scored all their points in the first half and held on to knock off the Greenback Cherokees at home on Friday, 15-12.
