Equipment Stolen From Battle Creek Volunteer Fire Department

The Battle Creek Volunteer Fire Department reported on Wednesday night that several items were stolen from their fire hall located on Goff Payne Road.
In a post on the department’s Facebook page, they say someone broke into the fire hall during the day Wednesday and stole several important pieces of life-saving equipment.
Some of the equipment stolen includes:
  • VHF radios
  • firefighting nozzles
  • 5″ intake trash pump (new)
  • New set of turnout gear
  • pressure washer

Officials with the department say this is not a complete list, but what they’ve been able to assess is missing at this time. Firefighters are currently working to acquire a full inventory of missing equipment.

They want to remind the public that the department is on a limited budget and these vital pieces of equipment stolen are not something within their ability to financially replace.

A black Dodge 1500 truck was seen at the fire hall at some point on Wednesday and could possibly be linked to the theft.

They ask that if you have any information, please contact the Marion County Sheriff’s Department at 423-942-2525.
