South Pittsburg scored three touchdowns within its first ten offensive plays and never looked back. The top-ranked Pirates defeated Whitwell 42-7 for the regional championship at home on Thursday night.
Senior quarterback Kamden Wellington had 220 yards passing and added another 83 on the ground. He had three touchdown passes and rushed for two more. AJ Wallace had four catches for 122 yards and two touchdowns.
Brandon Easterly connected with Wyatt Davis on a 54-yard touchdown pass for the Tigers’ only score.

South Pittsburg (10-0/5-0) will host Jo Byrns (1-9) in the first round next week, while region runner-up Whitwell (7-3/4-1) will host Red Boiling Springs (5-5).
