In recognition of the 10th anniversary of becoming the water provider for customers served by the Whitwell water system on December 16, 2013, Tennessee American Water partnered with the American Water Charitable Foundation to provide donations to two area food banks. Contributions of $2500 apiece have been given to the Marion County Community Ministry and the Chattanooga Area Food Bank’s monthly satellite program at the Whitwell Church of God. Employees also volunteered this week at the church’s distribution site and other times throughout the year.

“It’s important to our employees to give back to our community,” said Jason Campbell, senior supervisor for Tennessee American Water. “We appreciate the American Water Charitable Foundation providing the opportunity for funding to help those in need.”

“We are so thankful for the Tennessee American Water employees who have been helping us with the food distribution,” said Marilyn Frazier, who coordinates the all-volunteer project at the Church of God. “We couldn’t have done it this week without their help since there was more food than normal to distribute with the upcoming Christmas holiday.”

The American Water Charitable Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization established by American Water, the largest regulated water and wastewater utility company in the U.S.
