Here is an update on road conditions in Marion County: Hwy 134 (299) is open and has been salted. Hwy 150 (Jasper Mtn) has been cleared and salted and is open for travel.
Hwy 156 is CLOSED at the top of the mountain at Patton School Rd. Please DO NOT go around. The road is impassable.
Vehicles that tried to go down the mountain began sliding into abandoned vehicles.
Until further notice, Suck Creek Mountain is closed due to being iced over.
TDOT reports that Hwy 2 in Battle Creek, Whitwell Mtn, Hwy 134, and Hwy 150 are all passable at this time. They are currently working on Suck Creek and Hwy 156 in New Hope. These are State roads.
In Sequatchie County, officials report that salt and plow trucks are on Signal, Fredonia, Lewis Chapel, and Cagle Mountains. There are almost 400 county roads in Sequatchie County. Primary roads are being cleared first.
Jackson County, Alabama, EMA says that travel is possible on major routes in the county, but there are other roadways and streets where hazardous conditions still exist.
