Solar Eclipse takes place Monday Afternoon

The solar eclipse will take place Monday afternoon. In our area, you won’t be able to see a total eclipse; instead, you will see a partial eclipse.

We will have around 89% partial coverage here in the Sequatchie Valley. It will begin around 12:45 pm CT, peak at 2:03 pm, and end at approximately 3:20 pm.

It is also important to buy solar eclipse glasses from a reliable vendor and inspect them for scratches, damage, or holes. Remember to purchase the special ISO 12312-2 standard glasses from a verified vendor.

Due to the solar eclipse, Bledsoe, Grundy, and Sequatchie County schools will close at 11:30 am CDT.
