Jasper, Kimball, and Whitwell Fire Departments take part in pump operations and draft class over the weekend

Volunteer firefighters with the Jasper, Kimball, and Whitwell Volunteer Fire Departments took part in a join training effort on Saturday in Jasper.

The 16-hour training covered pump operations and a draft class, necessary for the department members to have a better operational understanding of equipment and how to properly “draft” water from a temporary tank or portable container in an area where few or no hydrants are available.

The training was held in the Marion County High School parking lot and involved volunteers from all three local agencies.
