Tennessee American Water has announced that they are accepting grant applications for the 2024 Firefighting Support Grant Program.
These grants provide financial assistance to uniformed, professional, and volunteer fire departments in the Tennessee American Water service areas including sale-for-resale areas.
Grants up to $1,000 will be awarded to cover department costs for equipment such as personal protective gear, communications equipment, firefighting tools, water handling equipment, and training or other related activities and materials used to support community fire protection.
Departments in the service area who are interested in applying can do so through August 16, 2024 online at https://www.amwater.com/tnaw/News-Community/firefighter-grant-program.
Recipients will be notified in September of their status. Last year the company awarded grants to 14 departments in Marion and Hamilton counties as well as parts of northwest Georgia.
