Sheriff Bill Phillips and the men and women of the Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office are excited to announce the Kick-Off of their 2nd Opp Program being implemented at the jail. The event will be held at the Sequatchie County Justice Center on August 6, 2024, beginning at 3:30 p.m. Community members interested in learning more about and celebrating the implementation of this program are invited to join the Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office for this exciting event.

“We have anxiously awaited the announcement of the implementation of this program for several months and are excited to see positive results in the lives of inmates that will benefit our community as a whole,” stated Sheriff Phillips.

2nd Opp is a program developed to assist inmates in preparing for successful re-entry and reducing the recidivism rates that are so damaging and costly to our community. The program is comprised of five courses tailored to enhance skills crucial for post-incarceration success, such as employment readiness, financial literacy, life skills, career paths, and re-entry.
