At 7:52 AM Saturday, the Dunlap Fire Department responded to a structure fire off Old Union Road. A resident smelled smoke and discovered a fire on the home’s back deck.
The family evacuated the residence, and a male occupant used a water hose on the fire, which saved the home.
Firefighters arrived and moved the deck away from the home, and finished extinguishing the fire.
Deputy Stephenson with Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Department assisted the occupant until firefighters arrived.
There were no injuries, and the home only received damage to the siding.
