Friday night at 9:23, the Haletown Volunteer Fire Department responded to the 2100 block of Highway 134 for a structure fire. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found a fully involved structure fire, with 50-foot-tall flames and a brush fire spreading from the burning structure.
Fire crews immediately began preventing the fire from spreading in the area while attacking it. Additional resources were called in from the Jasper Highlands Fire Department and the Jasper Fire Department. Fire Rehab Services was called out to assist firemen. 
The fire was extinguished through the combined efforts of all firefighters on the scene. The structure was an abandoned building.
The Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire. There were no injuries to firefighters or citizens.
