Sunday morning, 11-24-2024, Dunlap Fire Department received two alarms six minutes apart. At 6:16 AM, we were dispatched to a possible structure fire on Shepherd Road. Engine 1 responded with five firefighters. Firefighters found where a thermostat had shorted out, melted off the wall, and blackened the wall above it. Fortunately, the occupants awakened to the smell of smoke, but there were no injuries. They did not have a working smoke detector.

At 6:22 AM, they were dispatched to a fire alarm in a residence on Scenic Drive. A couple of Firefighters responding to the first call diverted to the second call. Dunlap police responded to the alarm and arrived first. They found it was a false alarm and canceled the fire before firefighters arrived.
