As we reported, 41-year-old Jonathan Belk has been charged with criminal homicide after allegedly stabbing 18-year-old Billy J. Floyd of Jasper, TN, to death. Authorities report that Belk discovered Floyd with his wife, 31-year-old Jada Gholston, leading to a violent confrontation on Saturday morning in Sequatchie County.
According to the sheriff’s office, the incident unfolded at Belk’s home in the Fredonia Community. Following the altercation, Belk’s wife was found at the Sequatchie-Erlanger emergency room, suffering from multiple stab wounds.
A Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Department report revealed that Floyd’s body was discovered in a trash can.
During questioning, when asked about his concerns beyond his legal troubles, Belk reportedly expressed worry about his relationship with his wife, stating, “I am worried about my relationship with my wife due to the fact that I offed him.”
Belk is currently being held in the Sequatchie County Jail, facing multiple charges, including criminal homicide, as the investigation continues.
