Local Teachers Earn Grants

SVEC is proud to collaborate with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to support local educators through the TVA STEM Classroom Grant Program!

Recently, TVA and the Sequachee Valley Electric Cooperative officials presented checks to five outstanding teachers in our area to help fund innovative STEM projects in their classrooms.

Congratulations to:

  • Deanna Mitchell — Bledsoe County CTC
  • Stephanie Abel — Bledsoe County Middle
  • Erin Johnson — Sequatchie County Griffith Elementary
  • Michael McAnally — Mary V. Wheeler Elementary, Pikeville
  • Kyle Case — South Pittsburg Elementary

This year, 647 applications were submitted across the TVA service area, but only 342 grants were awarded—and we’re excited that five went to local educators right here at home!

By supporting STEM learning today, SVEC and TVA are helping prepare students for the careers of tomorrow.
