Dr. Alan Wayne, a primary care physician in Scottsboro, could lose his license over allegations of sexual misconduct and mishandling prescriptions.
The Alabama Board of Medical Examiners accuses Dr. Wayne of making sexual advances toward his patients. His behavior allegedly dates back to 1999.
The Board’s petition also accuses Wayne of demanding hugs from patients before allowing them to leave the room and touching them sexually.
Additionally, it states that in July 2024, Wayne prescribed a controlled substance to himself. He also mishandled urine samples and prescribed medications to his wife.
He is expected to appear before the board on July 25.
Wayne’s office is closed to the public, and the staff only answers questions for current patients.
