A hotel owner accused of making false statements to authorities has had the charge against her dismissed.
Judge Bradley Sherman terminated the legal proceedings against Dakshaben Amrutlal Patel, the co-owner of Super 8 and Mountain Inn. The reason for dismissing the charge is unknown. However, the case against Harshil Patel is set for review on September 17.
Both individuals were charged with making false reports to officers in December 2023 after Monteagle Police apprehended wanted fugitives from Franklin County at the Mountain Inn. According to the arrest report, authorities allege they informed the two owners on multiple occasions about two wanted suspects, and each time, they denied the men were at the hotel. The men were eventually located and arrested after a foot chase in the parking lot.
