Dade County Man Convicted of Child Molestation

Jesse Miles Seals

A Dade County man has begun serving a prison sentence for child molestation after the victim gave ‘courageous testimony’ to a jury, which convicted him in a trial that prosecutors say revealed ‘a disturbing pattern of predatory conduct.’

According to a release from Lookout Mountain Judicial District Attorney Clayton Fuller, Jesse Miles Seals’ trial took place late last month.

Fuller says the victim “described numerous inappropriate interactions” with Seals, starting when she was around 12 years old.

When she was 15, she said Seals, who was 33 at the time, took her “on a midnight drive” and molested her.

After the jury found him guilty, Judge Don Thompson sentenced Seals to 20 years in prison. He’ll have to serve 15 years before he’s eligible for parole, and once he’s released, he’ll be on “probation under sex offender special conditions.”

The victim shared her gratitude to the jury:

I want to thank District Attorney Fuller, Detective McConathy, and the entire DA’s Office for standing by me and believing me. I was scared, but they helped give me the strength to speak out and get justice for me and the other girls.
